So What Did You Do Today?

I cleaned up crap. Multiple times.

The small child has a running nose, fever and diarrhea. Fun times in the Fite-Turner house.

THE WEEKEND HASN'T BEEN ALL BAD

Friday we got up at 6:30 got ready & took a 15 minute boat ride over to this island. I told the lady sitting next to me not to worry that the driver only looked 14...about ten minutes into the boat ride, I realized just how wrong I was.

I can just envision the conversation that must have taken place in his house that morning:

14 yr old boat driver's Dad: Gosh, I feel awful. I dont think I can go into work today.

14 yr old boat driver: No worrieslah. I can drive the boat for you, Pops...what? of course I am sure I can drive a boat...How hard can it be?

This is what the small child looked like on the ride over there:
I thought he was gonna hurl. Finally I took him, and he curled up on my shoulder and survived the trip. It was rough, thats the truth.

This is what his brother looked like:
He was loving it. We were airborn so many times I started thinking *I* might hurl.

Once we made it safely there, we had a GREAT time. Justin built lots of sandcastles and Max destroyed every one of them. I am not even sure he enjoyed destroying them; he seemed compelled. I feel a little scared. I mean, today he's destroying sandcastles...tomorrow?

Jack went snorkeling.
Aunt Daneila, the most patient person in the world, was involved with this experiment. We all knew he couldn't do it, but he wanted to try so Daniela walked him through it. Literally. I lost interest before they made it to the water (you have to walk backwards in the sand with flippers on. it took them a long time to make it to the water), so I am not sure exactly how the snorkeling went for Jack, but I think we can be certain he didnt see a lot of fish.

He also got buried in the sand:
And while Max thoroughly enjoyed helping to bury his brother, he did not like being the recipient.
Once we got there, we realized that my bag hadn't made it. Fortunately Max had insisted on wearing his swimsuit, so he was okay, and Jack could make do in his under pants, but I sadly had to stay out of the water. :( I didn't mind so much; we still had a fun time.
