I'll Lend you a Hand

There is this Veggie Tales song that ends with the words, "loving means lending a hand." Tonight, as it ended, Jack said, "I'll lend you a hand, max. After I push you down."

Sweet, isn't he?

We have been having trouble with him lately pushing max for no reason or just being mean to him. :( Here all this time I thought that I just did a better job at parenting than my folks but it just turns out that I am nothing special and the sin nature is just as active in my kids as it was in me.

I hate learning hard truths. :(

TODAY HAS BEEN A GOOD DAY

I spent this morning at the office working on a menu plan. I actually have dinner planned out, and wait, this is the best part, SHOPPED FOR, for the entire week. :) Breakfast, too. We'll probably just do leftovers for lunch, except one day I have stuff to make Beef Teriyaki because Joel doesn't like it but the kids and I do. I am trying three new recipes from my "Deceptively Delicious" recipe book and one new recipe from a BH&G casserole booklet I picked up while we were in the States in Dec. I shopped at the market for a lot of it, too, and that makes it even cheaper. :)

I'll post my menu plan tomorrow when I have more time. We are off to have dinner with J&D, who are going bck to the States tomorrow night. :(

Happy Monday!

  1. Wow, you are making progress with your important stuff! It's great to plan out a menu for a week and shop for it. I eat leftovers for lunch too.
