Everywhere I went yesterday, folks was wearin' them medical masks that, in truth, don't do much more than make ya look like a freak. No offense if any of you are paranoid mask wearers. We're not so much; in fact when Joel & I first got married, he insisted that he didn't believe in germs. (And judging from the lack on soap in most public bathrooms, you'd think folks round here feel the same way...but the whole face mask phenomena has me believing differently)
Anyway, when I dropped Jack off at school, all the teachers were wearing them and even a few of the students. I guess I should not have been surprised to see them at the hospital, but I was. People were wearing them at the post office, but the biggest "uh, really think you need it so much?" moment was when everyone working OUTSIDE at the gas station was wearing them.
Last time I saw a count, about 2000 people had been infected with the H1N1 virus in the State, and there have been no fatalities. So that means that 2,998,000 people have NOT been infected, but nobody seems to focus on the positive when it comes to mass hysteria.
The small child is doing better, though he did throw up for the first time today. He is still having diarrhea, but at least you cant fill a cup with it. His spirits are up, and the naggy whining has ended. Hallelujah! Life will hopefully be back to normal in time for me to go to the party in the village this weekend.
AND JUST BECAUSE I LIKE TO SHOW OFF MY LAYOUTS
Here is one of the small child in his first LSU outfit:

Click here for creditsSabrina Dupre, who sells over at Shabby Pickle Designs, made this kit just for me. :) I will heart her forever for it. See, I didn't ever dream in purple & gold; in fact, I find the colors a bit repulsive. But after nine years of marriage to a man who bleeds those colors, I have given in. It isn't that he wore me down, it was just a practical decision, you see, for life is better in our house when LSU wins. So now I root for the Tigers...from a distance, because really all I care about is our happiness, NOT the Tigers.
