So remember that whole budget thing? Yeah, totally out the window for DSD. But I don't plan on spending any more money the rest of the year. {is anyone else giggling at the absurdity of that?}

I got lots of fun stuff, mostly from SSD. I had a GC to Dani's store, so I got a couple of her older kits, and Jac RAK'ed me with a coupon to Shawna's store, so I picked up "You Don't Know Me" for free. Last month I participated in a couple of TDC challenges and got one of their collabs and an alpha for free. If you wanna see what I got, here is my Got it! Kaboodle list.

I have even used THREE of the kits I got already! I'll be ready to shop again by Black Friday. ;)

For the iDSD SAL challenge at SSD, I lifted a page of Jac's using Star Power by Susan & Melissa. The journaling is about Jack's Turner genes that instinctively knew how to blow a duck call. Yup, that's right, I married into a clan of duck killers. Some day I will tell you about the one and only time Joel convinced me to go duck hunting with him, but not this day.

The second page I did was for the TOTM Challenge at SSD using La's That Connection kit.
Mimi and I met at the Chicago airport last December on my way back to America. We used to chat every day, and I miss her SO much since she started having a life. :( We had Starbucks and chatted until Max woke up with NO idea where he was or who this lady sitting with mom was, and he was having NONE of it. It literally took a solid week for him to get over jet lag. I finally asked Mimi not to look at him any more because it made him scream. {ugh} And really you should know that I don't look quit so hag-ish in real life; I had just spent 15 hours on a plane with two small children.

In Real Life
I took the kids to the mall today after we picked Jack up from school {He goes to a half day Chinese program}. Now I hate to eat out with my kids; it takes them forever and a day to eat and the local food can be a bit spicy for them. I got sweet & sour fish for the boys and beef noodle soup for me. Two minutes after our food arrived, Jack had to go to the bathroom...#2 style, so we left our plates, told the girl at the counter we would be right back and went to the bathroom. {reason number gazillion I hate eating out with them} When we came back, my soup bowl was missing the broth and Max's plate of fish was floating in it. Fortunately it didn't bother him because apparently the child has no taste buds.

Anyway, I took them to get their hair cut, and Jack did great, but Max kept saying, "Jack take a haircut. Not Maxie." So when it was his turn, he turned red screaming in protest, and the hair stylist refused to get near his head with the scissors. Can't say I blame him. I promised ice cream, candy ANYTHING to get him to stop screaming, but what can you do with a hysterical 2 year old and a pair of scissors?

  1. I have so been in your shoes with the hair cuts. It's a nightmare! My husband also grew up duck hunting but I have refused to ever go with him after the stories he has told about it.

  2. I'm just loving your layouts lately! (Not that I didn't love them before... but even more now!) The textures and shadowing really show depth and just look so lush and rich. How fun that you and Meems got to meet up in the airport last December!
