Children's Birthday Parties

are for children, this is for sure. I took Jack to one at McDonalds tonight and it was pure insanity. I felt terrible for the other people in the restaurant, but no one ever even batted an eye. Children are so allowed to get away with anything in this society BUT they grow up to be much better people than most people in my country of origin.

You know what I think the secret is? They place a higher value on community. We place a higher value on individual. So Americans do what is best for themselves with little regard for how their decisions effect others, while people here will sacrifice what they want for the good of their families. I think we could learn a LOT from Asian cultures regarding this. Not to say it doesnt' come with some negatives, but overall it is a good quality IMO.

All that from a birthday party, lol. It was fun, but my kids are all doped up on a sugar high and will probably never get to sleep tonight. I definitely think I need to start planning Jack's {January} birthday now; maybe Ill see if Jacq, the queen of over the top birthday parties, can help me get started. :)

I finished up this layout for the LDD blog challenge:
I used to just make layouts so that I could have an excuse for scrapping, for CT stuff, but with Max lately I keep making these "I LOVE YOU" kind of layouts because I LOVE HIM! He's the very definition of delightful and I feel this great burden to express it. MAN I adore that kid!

Have a happy weekend!
