My husband called me trashy

Actually, I believe his exact word was "filthy", and mom, you can take this opportunity NOT to chime in. I prefer the word "messy". Filth implies pizza boxes piled up on the floor and spilt milk under the table and bits of leftovers caked permanently to the leg of the chair.

It's not that bad. Really. Just sometimes messy, you know, laundry not quite finished, dishes in the sink, toys on the floor. And really, they were just using those toys...HONEST.

But finally the other night I finished whatever I was finishing and crawled into bed at 11:30. I was SO exhausted, and all I cared about was going to sleep. And then Joel busted out with this piece of information, citing the unwashed dishes in the sink (although he had been laying on the couch watching TV for at LEAST three hours that night, come on, now, he can't wash a few dishes?!). It just infuriated me because he woudln't lay off and then kept bringing up my lifestyle in college.

At this point I would like to point out that it was my ROOMMATE and not ME who slept in her bed with pizza boxes, books and other random items still in it. FYI.

So I had no choice but to get out of that bed and go clean the kitchen. At eleven thirty at night. UGH. I was so mad at him. Then he comes in there JUST. TO. WATCH.

Did I ever mention that I married a punk? No? Well now you know. ; )

I'm gonna warn you that the Princess has not one but TWO delicious kits coming out this week. One is a shabby girly Christmas kit that I am in love with, and the other is a delightful pp bonanza in colors that I would never have put together but now can't live without. And since I cannot share those pages with you yet, I will show you the one I threw together during Max's nap today using Fee's Yes No Maybe and Darla's Cookies 4 Kids:

That was Jack at 10 months old. Darn he was cute!

In conclusion, I hope that your husband doesn't make you wash dishes at midnight and that your children are cute. Have a happy Sunday!

  1. all I have to say is 'I feel your pain' and seriously I had the same roommate in college and I probably would have gotten up at midnight as well....and I am sure that you are right that it was just messy! LOL

  2. I married a punk too! I hate cleaning, and I can spend my day doing everything but! Usually I am scrambling around at 4pm to get the house looking reasonable before he gets home. The part I hate about being a SAHM is that now all the housework falls to me and I really HATE it. It is understandable for him to expect me to do it, after all I am home all day. But, sometimes it really grinds me that he won't lift a finger to do stuff around the house, even though if I was working full time he would have to. Anyway, I just read your post about you having to quit blogging. I hope you can work something out, because I am a fan of yours. Maybe you can talk him into letting you post once a week after the chores are done :) Good Luck!
