About last night

So I read this article about how important it is for mothers to be well rested. Not like it was a news flash or anything, just a good reminder. So I turned off my computer at 8:15, did my bedtime routine and was out like a light at nine o'clock.

About forty five minutes later, I had that "have I not been asleep yet" sensation, followed by a "whats that hurling noise?" sensation, followed by the realization that the small child was puking his pathetic dinner up. I wasn't coherent enough to do anything besides put him in bed with me and try to go back to sleep, only for the next hour, he threw up every 15 minutes. Finally I realized I should stay awake and rush him to the bathroom before he contaminated the entire house, but that was only after he puked in the crib, on the bed and on the pallet on the floor.

He finally stopped puking around 2 am, but by that point his brother was awake and we ended up watching TV before finally crashing at 3. It was a rough night, to say the least.

But while I was sitting up waiting for him to puke, I was able to finish up another page for the 2007 album. All I have left is a review page from my parents trip and the cover!

Here is the page I did last night: I used Holly McCaig's Simplicity papers because the page this layout is opposite in my album uses Simplicity. Plus, the papers are gorgeous, are they not?
Then I spent some time today completely redoing this page, which I did for a Lifts with a Twist Challenge back in August 2007:
Photobucket
I used Nikki Epperson's new templates & Zoe's Shabby Sugar, and I have no shame about using that gorgeous pink pp on a boy page, especially when I love the results so much.

I'm gonna try my hand at an early bedtime again tonight, and hopefully no one will wake me up with the sound of his guts hitting the pillow. {Just fyi, small fry was FINE all day long, ptl}

  1. Love the reworked page. Sorry you had such a rough day/night. It sounds pretty horrible!

  2. I don't understand how you can use all that pink and flowers and make it work while I just struggle to put a single flower on a boy page. You rock. Very pretty layout.
