Moving?

We love our place. Mostly. First, it's quiet. Hard to come by around here. Second, it's only 10 minutes from town. Third, it's nice. Fairly new, great floor plan, lots of open space and GREAT view.

Nice, huh?

But what we really hate about it is that there is nowhere for the kids to play and no one for them to play with. Plus it's at the top of a REALLY steep hill, and we share a vehicle. So I can't take the bus with the kids and it's hard for people to get to.

Our contract was up in February, but we told them we weren't going to renew...until we couldn't find anywhere else to live. :( So we defaulted, possibly not acting in faith, and stayed here. But hte longer we're here, the crazier the kids get. They really need to be outside more, and there's just no where for them to run and be free here.

So we found a place across town, right across from the beach, where there is a huge park & another new park being built. There are food stalls at the beach, too, which is nice.

BUT it's on the first floor, has glass sliding doors and could easily be broken in to. Or small children could fall off the balcony. AND our landlord is requiring that we give them two months notice before they'll give us back our deposit, even though technically we're not under contract with them right now.

What to do, what to do...

The new place is smaller (only 2 bedrooms) and the kitchen is unfinished (meaning there is only a sink, no cabinets or anything), but I *think all of our stuff will fit. Maybe. Of course, it won't be available in two months, I'm sure, so unless our landlord relents and gives us back our deposit, I guess we'll be here for a couple more months and just hope that something is available in June. I'm feeling torn. Not sure I want to move, not sure I want to stay.
